Prevented by ebay from selling and account on hold.

I am a new eBay member from Jersey, Channel Islands, a dependency of the UK. My account is set up with my bank details and all appeared okay. I have prepared a listing with no problem but when I pressed the List tab I received a message that my account has been restricted because I am selling from an address different to that of my registered address which is not the case. Something about Wholesale shops or factory.

I am at a loss to understand how what I am doing offends eBay policy. I have tried the Contact forum but impossible to explain to an automated system what the problem is.

Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, how did they overcome it ?

Of course Jersey is a dependency of the UK,  but I do know that buyers from Jersey sometimes have difficulties paying for items purchased from  UK sellers,  this is because eBay have grouped the Channel Isles mainly Jersey and Guernsey into Europe.  This may be affecting your ability to have your address accepted ?

I would suggest contacting eBay Customer Services,  but only very first thing on a weekday,  when the lines first open for ' live agents',  as there's more chance of Dublin answering,  and they'll have a  better understanding of the issue here,  than CS in the Philippines !

Only speak to Dublin,  ask what the workaround to this is, how you can list your UK address!  It's a Call Back option,  so you'll hear if it's the dulcet tones of the Emerald Isles !

Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.

As said I do recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning as there's more chance of Dublin answering.
