Postage

I did not receive my purchase in time and the seller asked ebay to resolve.  Ebay resolved it in my favour and gave me a refund.  I throught the problem was resolved and bought the item (which was a gift for a relative) elsewhere.   About a month later the item arrived in the post and the seller promptly asked me to pay for it.  I said I wanted to return it as I now did not need it as I had bought it elsewhere (she has a no returns policy).  She said I would have to pay for postage.   Should I be out of pocket paying for postage (I have to wrap item up and take it to the post office and pay for it).  This is not my fault but lies with Evri who delivered it very late

If the seller wants it back they will have to pay you the return postage, outside of ebay.

Seller does not seem to know how returns/not received  work.

For not received, buyer opens a not received case, if ebay gets involved as implied by seller asking ebay to resolve, seller gets a defect on their selling record. Now that item has been delivered if seller wants it back they pay.

You as buyer because item arrived late could open a not as described case, when seller has to provide a return label. As you have already been refunded, there is no point in opening another case, but there is no reason for you to pay return postage.
