While packing the order the buyer ordered another similar item so I packed them together and, not knowing what the postage would be, took them to the Post Office and paid the postage. I have tried to cancel the original label but just get the message that the label cannot be cancelled. I tried contacting Ebay twice but just get the message that it can be cancelled anytime within 14 days, this is the second day but every time I try to cancel I still get message that the label cannot be cancelled. The same buyer has ordered another item so I tried to download the label which I have not used but cannot download it so I am paying for postage I have not used. With this new system that Ebay have introduced where you have to pay for shipping through them it looks like they have you over a barrel and there is nothing you can do. It was far better when sellers could select their own couriers, also cheaper when dealing direct with Royal Mail.

Were the items sold under Simple Delivery T&Cs?
What do you mean by 'original label'? Where did that come from?

Sorry I didn't see "original label" where did that come from. The label was the one that ebay were selling for shipping to the customer.
