Incorrect Postage Label Generated – Out-of-Pocket Cost Incurred

Recently sold a casserole dish on eBay, the buyer paid for the item and £6.45 for postage. eBay provided a postage label via QR code, which I attempted to use at the Post Office.

However, when the Post Office agent scanned the code, they informed me that the label was only valid for a letter-size parcel (£2.55), while the item required a small parcel label as expected for the £6.45 charge. As a result, I had to pay an additional £7 out of my own pocket to ensure the item was delivered.

This appears to be an error in how the postage label was generated based on the actual size/weight of the parcel. How do I get eBay to look into this issue to assist with a reimbursement for the extra postage costs I incurred?

Not straight forward to find/ get hold of eBay support or customer services team.

Any help/ direction is appreciated.

Thanks

Not sure what has happened there, was it a simple delivery item?

Ordinarily if the label hadn't been scanned we could have told you how to get the label refunded, however because it was scanned its slightly different and may have activated the tracking code.

The link above is for customer services to call you back it may though be easier to wait until the morning when you will get a better chance of dealing with someone in Dublin. Make sure you have a copy of the receipt etc when you call.
