Payments on hold until two days after delivery.

Hello Everyone,

Can someone please clear something up for me? Having sold an item, it is my usual practice to purchase my postage label from Ebay. Sometimes however, I choose to send by way of another courier. This could be because of size or weight. I always send tracked and should I choose not to use an ebay postage I always enter the tracking details so that the item can be seen as delivered.

It appears that each time I do not use an ebay postage label, even though the item has been delivered and feed back posted from the buyer,  I am still not being paid in the two day period. In these instances I am waiting for 14 days. 

I am currently waiting for payment for an item I sold 10 days ago. I sold this item on 14th April and it was delivered on 16th April. Despite the tracking being added and Royal Mail confirming delivery ebay do not recognise that the delivery has happened and the delivery is not being recognised. 

Any suggestions please.

If you do not use eBay postage but your own, so far sellers are able to choose custom v. Simple Delivery,  then you should be able to still add the tracking manually use a laptop /  PC with Chrome .  If not,  then contact eBay Customer Services to do this for you.  

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays

9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.

Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.

I recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

Be aware , SD will be mandatory for All Private sellers soon, it has been s l o w l y rolled out from the 15th, and ' allegedly '  all will be under SD's umbrella from the 28th April. 

Then, you'll have no choice but to select RM or Evri and buyer selects which service if you do not beforehand,  cancel one service.  We understand other couriers will be s l o w l y added in the future. 🤔

Thanks for your reply..good advice.. I don’t have any problems with posting
should I choose my own courier.. it just seems that the delivery is not
being registered on the eBay app as delivered whereas if I choose to print
off an eBay label it automatically registers as delivered immediately after
delivery.. and payment happens two days later.. but if you don’t use eBay
labels despite your item being delivered you don’t get paid for 14 days.
That is my problem. It’s happened a lot recently. Royal Mail is always my
preferred courier and will always deliver on time which is why I choose 48
tracked. It’s a strange one.

Don't use the app to try and manually enter your tracking number,  use a PC / laptop and Chrome.

One other thing to bear in mind, Royal Mail/ courier's tracking is sometimes not in sync with eBay's tracking, and the latter is the most important for releasing a faster payout,  that is,  2 days after the delivery date.

If you have found your tracking has not updated,  therefore holding back your payout,  contact eBay Customer Services, provide the tracking showing delivery, ask if they can kindly release your payout now as 48 hours have passed the delivery date.
