Payment Pending Clarification

Ebay are being a little inaccurate with their claim. It's not 2 days from delivery and positive feedback.
I sent my item via tracked postage and received positive feedback, even including a photo of the buyer holding the item in their hand.
Two days later, my money hadn't been released so today I contacted Customer Service and communicated with Adori.
Apparently while I had informed the buyer of the tracking reference and received the positive feedback, eBay remained unaware of the reference and cannot accept positive feedback and a photo as proof of delivery. It has to be two days from when I enter the tracking reference for eBay so two days from today.
That is not what their FAQs says nor what the "Payments on Hold" article that Adori referred me to (before they hung up on me) says but I guess I have got to like it or lump it.
Frankly I am not impressed with this new system. The fact that I have been with eBay for 21 years seems to count for nothing.

Feedback only releases payment for items under £25.  If positive feedback is left, your payment is released immediately.

For most items, you do need to add tracking when you send the item and your payment will be released 2 days after tracking shows delivery - I have found it is two complete days (48 hours) and have been paid very promptly for all of my tracked items.

All the details are here:

Items sent by post

  • Tracked: Funds will typically be available 2 calendar days after we receive confirmation from the tracked service that delivery to the buyer or pick-up location was successful. For example, if your order is delivered on Wednesday, you’ll get your funds on Friday
    • For orders sent with Simple Delivery and dispatched within 3 calendar days, funds will be available 8 calendar days from the order date or 2 calendar days after we receive delivery confirmation, whichever comes first
  • Untracked, or tracked with missing delivery confirmation: Funds will be available 14 calendar days from the order date
  • eBay services: If the item qualifies for Authenticity Guarantee or our Global Shipping Programme, funds will be available 24 hours after authentication or arrival to the shipping centre, respectively
  • Single-quantity, single-item orders priced £25 or less: Funds will be available instantly if positive feedback is received from the buyer. Authenticity Guarantee and Global Shipping Programme orders are not eligible

Re: Payment Pending Clarification

Sorry, where did you find "all the details"?

I had looked at the Sellers' FAQs which are less clear:-

"Tracked: Funds are available 2 days after delivery confirmation. Funds will be made available immediately if the buyer provides positive feedback for qualifying orders*.

There's no indication that the 2 days starts from when eBay receives delivery confirmation from the service. And again, I would have thought that positive feedback and a photo of the buyer holding the item is a pretty good confirmation that it's been delivered.

I've found it!
It's in the Buyers FAQ - the obvious place to look when I'm a seller! 🙄

The link is here:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold?id=4814&st=3&pos=1&qu...

Scroll down to 'Private sellers'.

I put 'payments' as the search term into 'Help & contact' to find the details.

The bit you quoted 'Funds will be made available immediately if the buyer provides positive feedback for qualifying orders*.' does state 'qualifying orders*' - the asterisk suggesting there is more to read.

Re: Payment Pending Clarification

Thanks.
I find eBay's website has become so ruddy complicated as the differences in the page you have used and the one I quoted from has proven.
I feel that you need to search around all over the place to find anything on it these days. Hence I couldn't find where to initially add the tracking reference and so simply informed the buyer.
Time for me to move on from eBay me thinks.
