Partial refunds

What is going on? In the last 2 weeks, I've received partial refunds for returned items because,  supposedly, they were not returned in the original condition. In the first instance, the seller did not respond to my query and eBay stepped in and gave me a full refund. And now, a seller claimed the item came back stained and with the tag ripped off which is completely untrue! I have been buying on Ebay for more than 20 years and have never encountered problems like this before.  What is going on???

Top rated sellers are allowed to deduct amounts from a refund if the item is not returned in the same condition.

If you feel this is being done unfairly, you should complain to Ebay.

Partial refunds

I have. It's just that it's happened twice in a couple of weeks, both times completely unfairly. Items were returned less than 24 hours after being received and were carefully wrapped and in their original condition. I have been a member for more than 20 years and have never had problems like this before. Thank goodness eBay has stepped in both times and given me a full refund.
