Is this right, i contacted the seller of a motorcycle though eBay messaging and all my personal information came up my full name /email address /phone number /post code at the start of our corresponding.Surely this is not right when i contacted eBay they said it was because it was a classified ad .So i said in this day age peoples personal info is a commodity and highly valuable and i won't be contacting sellers of classified ad's

It's a newish feature for vehicles.  There will be a disclaimer at the very bottom of the page saying that your contact information will be shared with the seller so that they can contact you directly.

but don’t you think it should be the other way round seller gives a phone number like you would selling with auto trader

eBay say it helps prevent fraud as motor vehicles are a common target for scams.

I remember before eBay, classified ad was just a phone number that’s it ,all eBay is doing in my opinion helping scammers buy giving to much info out

 Classified Ads. at total fee of £19. 99 allows the exchange of contact details for viewing and price negotiation over a 30 day period --- set the Start price at or near the price that you would find acceptable --- Avoid inviting Offers which may never be completed --- just continue to Negotiate an acceptable selling price and only remove the Ad. when you have a definite buyer with Cash in hand or a  Bank Transfer is safely deposited/confirmed before handing over Vehicle keys/documents on buyer viewing /collection. No additional FVF selling fee is charged. --- Do not accept PayPal payment.
