Out of date collection code

I sold a caravan battery, but omitted to get the collection code when the buyer and I met to hand it over. A week and a half has elapsed and I messaged the seller to send me the code which he did. EBay say the code is not valid.  What can I do? Thanks

You will need to wait 14 days for the release of the payout if there is no code beforehand entered,  to show collection.
