Order cancellation

Cancelled an order before it was dispatched, in fact in a matter of minutes after ordering when I realised it wouldn't be delivered in time, but my cancellation request was rejected, as a day after I cancelled the item was posted, the seller hasn't got in contact and ebay have been no help, has anyone any suggestions?

As a buyer, you can ask to cancel your purchase but the seller then has to accept or refuse your request.

If you bought from a business seller, you can return the item when it arrives but you will have to pay the postage.

ebay have been no help

 

What help do you expect from eBay? Your seller has declined to cancel, as they're entitled to.

 

eBay will simply remind you that "If you’ve changed your mind about a purchase, you can submit a request to cancel the order. The seller can either accept or decline your cancellation request".

 

You now need to check the seller's returns policy. UK business sellers are reqired by law and by eBay to accept returns, but you would have to pay for the return postage. Private sellers and sellers in other countries may not accept returns.

 

It's important to check delivery dates etc. before buying on eBay, especially from abroad. If you can't get out of a purchase, it can cost more that items are worth to return them to overseas sellers.

I expected ebay to be a bit quicker getting in contact with the seller like
they said they would, instead they left it too late and let the seller post
the item when it could have been stopped, but the situation has now been
resolved, thanks
