Offer received but deducted from that was the buyers protection fee

This is so confusing.  I've received an offer for an item I'm selling that I'd like to accept - but the Buyer's Protection fee will be deducted from the offer - meaning the seller pays the fee and not the buyer.  This seems to contradict the claims from Ebay around who pays that fee..!

That's just how offers work.  The buyer offers the max they are willing to pay, which includes the BPF that goes to ebay.

As it comes out of the buyer's payment, the buyer pays it.

You can make a counter offer & ebay will will add BPF to it.

So you get the amount you offered.

It may be contradictory but its always been like this since day one. If you don't like the offer send one back.
