Hi just need some advice please I have just bought a large parcel, The postage recommended was £12.50 or there about, the dimensions are 1352x240x474mm with a weight of 22.5 kg the seller took the parcel to the post office it was rejected by them as ebay had postal rated it as a medium parcel which you can see it's not they said parcel force would do it for £70! Can anyone recommend a courier service that will deliver this parcel to me. I don't mind paying a bit more if that's the case but not £70, the seller is a first timer and I really want to help make this a smooth transaction for both of us. Thank you in anticipation (just a note some couriers say they will take the measurements but not the weight, or the other way round, or am I doing this all wrong?)

Parcel force at post office counter for parcel upto 30Kg price is express 48 £22.00, or express 24 £25.15. Length must not exceed 1.5m and 3m length and girth combined, so at PO counter it will or rather should be accepted on the dimensions you give.
Most other carriers will consider it oversize as the item is over 1.2m in length. Which is when you get a hefty premium.
Interparcel may be another avenue to explore. (just google them)

Check the couriers on here:

If you decide to use one of them book direct from the courier's own website. Interparcel charge a bit more and also give their own tracking numbers which I'm not sure will work on ebay.
Assuming the seller has used ebay's Simple Delivery they should cancel/refund the transaction and relist with higher weight/postage for you to buy and pay again. Otherwise you will be paying for two sets of postage and the seller.will have to contact ebay to get the tracking number changed.
