New policies a bit of a Horlicks

It appears that the 2 new policies introduced by Ebay are a tad poorly thought out as to the adverse affect it would have on private sellers.I don't know any other platform where as a buyer, you have added extras at on at the end.Someone purchased something off of me for £500 and was charged £16+ for protection.Even though the item was sent next day by one, insured.By making sellers choose between 2 delivery companies gives me an option of just one.I wouldn't use EVRI ever again. They are by far the worst out there. They are that bad they even had to change their name! Why  buyers have to have protection is beyond me as Ebay keep hold of your money for 2 days AFTER the item has been delivered. I know that nothing will change Ebay's mind and the ebayites on this platform will say 'you don't have to sell on here'.But i have been on here since 2003 which it seems counts for nothing in this day and age. Please don't point out that i could make myself a business seller,as that would just be a vacuous statement.I just want to carry on as i always have.Even though i have no control how things i sell on here.It would be nice to kid myself i have.

If you're just selling off your own personal items then you're a private seller and stuck with the mandatory added Buyer protection fee of 4% + 75p being added to your item prices, and having to use Simple Delivery.

There isn't a workaround here that we can suggest.

Indeed there are numerous platforms that charge buyers extras.

Vinted add a buyer protection fee, but it's not added on at the end, it's displayed underneath the item price.
