seller bought item
i gave full refund as realised the description was wrong (and then they would have received an item not as described)
They left negative feedback saying i gave no reason for refund.
I sent them a screen shot of the message i sent them accompanying the refund.
Buyer refuses to remove negative feedback anyway.
Dear reader - the only reason given for negative feedback was 'no message'. But i sent one as detailed above.
So the only reason given for leaving negative feedback is null and void. does not apply. is irrelevant.
There is no grey area. there is no opinions. it is black and white. the reason negative feedback was left can be shown not to be true.
Yet im stuck with negative feedback.
Solution? (other than literacy screening for buyers)

There is nothing you can do about the negative.
From the messages, it is clear that the buyer would have liked you to message them before you cancelled the sale and refunded them.
You cancelled and refunded and added a message as to why you had done so, taking away the option for the buyer of continuing with the purchase even though the item was mis-described.
Negative feedback doesn't have to be proved true as long as it doesn't break Ebay's guidelines.

I hope you feel better now you have got that off your chest.
Posring in this forum invites opinions, advice, and comments regarding Ebay procedures, not necessarily agreement.
Sorry.

As your buyer has refused to change their feedback all you could do now is contact eBay to appeal it.
I'm afraid you will have very little chance of success. It doesn't contravene eBay's rules on what can be said. If the buyer is dissatisfied eBay will probably accept that as sufficient, whatever the reason. They are unlikely to explore the chronology of messages between you and the buyer.
But you might be lucky - eBay is unpredictable.
