I sold an item (a dashcam for a car) on eBay, and the buyer contacted me saying they were unhappy. I offered a partial refund on 18/11/24, which the buyer accepted. After a month of use (exactly 30 days), the buyer requested a full refund. While I’m willing to offer a refund, I don’t believe it should be the full amount since I already provided a partial refund.
Ultimately, I agreed to a full refund if the item was returned. I paid for return shipping, but the buyer sent back a box containing only an empty shaving foam canister. I am unsure if this was a mistake or whether he tried to scam me?
I documented everything with photos and escalated the issue to eBay. EBay allowed me to keep the money (and may have refunded the buyer). Despite this, the buyer left negative feedback, even though they attempted to scam me. I’m new to eBay and unsure if I can have this feedback removed. It is unlikely through our communication that the buyer would be willing to partake in a feedback revision request.
Can anyone advise?
