National Insurance Number

Dear all, I have tried to upload my NI number (UK account) in every possible way and the system tells me it's not recognised (I have had the same number for 25yrs). Can anyone help with this ? I have tried to try their online assistant (in every possible way too) - and it referred me to here. Many thanks. Warmly, Erika

Is it definitely your National Insurance number you're uploading (only asking because somebody was trying to upload their NHS number)?

The format should be 2 letters at the start, followed by 6 numbers and then one letter.

Are you using a letter O instead of a zero 0 or vice versa anywhere?

In my experience (all too often) reference numbers that are not recognised are usually do to a typo. It's so easy, especially where gaps should or shouldn't be included or characters are case-sensitive.

It's ironic that computers capable of processing of calculations in a minute are floored by elementary typing errors.

One more thing to add to the correct advice already offered.

Which device  and browser are you using?

The app and mobile browser can be a little inept in offering all functions.  If using wither,  switch if you can and use a laptop / PC and try Chrome,  that seems to work well with eBay.
