NOW HAVE TO PAY FOR COLLECTION OF PACKAGES AS PART OF SIMPLE DELIVERY!

Now with Simple Delivery, with no Post Office in this town, I find myself having to pay for a collection of packages. A double whammy. When I used to be able to charge for the postage and collection at least I could break even. It is now a case of how much do I lose each time I send something. My prices are on the lower end of average but if I put up the price  for things nobody will buy. I'd like to just break even as I'm not setting out to make a huge profit! eBay is getting worse for private sellers by the day! The day is coming when I find somewhere else to sell. This is getting f.....g stupid.

I thought unless it has changed,  with Simple Delivery and home collection Royal Mail do not charge their 30p collection fee ? 🤔

A fortnight ago, when I last sold something, eBay gave me the option of a free collection but yesterday there was no option - it just redirected me to RM and they charged me 30p. So, perhaps eBay has moved the goal posts again and found another way to save themselves money! Will see what happens next time. 

With no Post Office in this town, the nearest being 5 miles away, eBay is becoming expemsive. At least before Simple Delivery you could factor in a RM collection charge.

You can still factor in a collection charge, just to the item price.

I've thought of that but if I put up the price to cover that I feel that would be enough to send potential buyers elsewhere. The market for the stuff I'm selling has slowed almost to a standstill, not just for me but from what I see elswhere on here.

Although I am not of Evri or Yodel or parcel lockers,

Have you checked if local shops are agents for any of the above.

Obviously you will need to choose these carriers when listing items,

Evri is the only one available with SD at he moment, unless you do freepost.
