My eBay shop run by someone else

Hi

a friend has run my eBay shop and auction for some years now.  He is retiring and I want to take it over as I gave hi the eBay name.  How can I do this?

Whose name is the account in?

Accounts can't be transferred.

As you cannot transfer an ID it must still be in your name.

In that case it's his eBay shop, not yours. It can't be transferred to you.

You could ask whether you can run the account, with his permission. But I can't see why he would agree, unless there's something in it for him, as he would be personally liable to pay any fees, refunds etc.

Otherwise you can open your own shop, assuming that you have a business account on eBay in your own name. Or can open one.

You'll need to open your own account to sell on in that case, it's not possible to transfer an account, and the registered account name must exactly match the name on the bank account that buyers money is being transferred to.

So, at the moment does your friend receive the payments and then pass them on to you?

If it's all your stock then why is he doing it?
