Missing delivery - but who sent it.

A parcel was apparently delivered to me by Evri on 1st July and left in my 'outhouse'. I did not receive the delivery. I do not have an 'outhouse' and I have no knowledge of any purchase that I was expecting.

It has taken 3 weeks (from the delivery) to find out from Evri that it was a 'Simple Delivery' via ebay but they have no knowledge who the parcel was from and say I should contact ebay for more information and to start a 'Non-delivery' enquiry.

The only information I do have is a reference no. HO5QTA0043607677 and
Ref: 250713-005553.

Does anybody know how to explain this to ebay without asking some automated response computer? I'd love to know how to report this incident and find out who sent the delivery.

I've edited my answer as I think @jckl1957  is completely right here.

No purchase,  no outhouse,  no item =  No worries.

I don't understand why you want to investigate this.

You have not bought or ordered anything.

You have not received anything.

You just have a text message from Evri (did they use your full name/your Ebay username?) saying they delivered a parcel you didn't get to an outhouse you don't have.

Personally, I would move on and deal with something more important.

References mean nothing to us, and to be honest it is hardly worth trying to find out what a missing item that you were not even expecting  has disappeared to.

Evri have made a mess of a delivery and how you were advised of this non delivery by evri will never be known.

Asking ebay for details is just a time wasting exercise, no one is going to look for something that you have not lost.
