I have decided to give up my ebay account from the 1st of next month. The main reason is the ludicrous shipping charges from abroad. Either EBAY is a criminal organization trying to rip its customers off, or it is just no longer a viable company. I want nothing more to do with it. I shall buy from other sites that offer a range of shipping charges. If you remain with this company and purchase items from abroad to be sent to the UK you must be MAD!

If buying from outside UK it is always expensive.
You have to pay VAT and possibly import fees.
If seller uses GSP, it is even more expensive.

Forgive me my incredulity. Yes I know that is eBay's view, but the reality is that second hand goods do not attract VAT and there are many ways of shipping cheaper than you charge. Clearly ebay is ripping the public off.....that is the reason I am leaving....

No ebay staff here, we are fellow ebayers.
If you import items from abroad, new or used, you still pay VAT,
Blame HMRC.
GSP is expensive, but it saves international sellers the hassle of sorting customs documents.

Sellers set their own P&P and governments pocket VAT and duty.
