Listing altered after sale – no way to cancel or appeal

Hi,

I purchased a PC where the seller changed the listing after I submitted an offer. The item details and photos no longer match what I originally agreed to buy.

The seller has refused to clarify the specifications, and I strongly believe this may be a scam. I’ve already requested a cancellation, but the seller declined. I also submitted a report, and eBay’s automated system removed several of their listings, which suggests the issue was taken seriously.

However, I haven’t received any guidance on how to proceed with a refund. I’m currently unable to cancel the order myself, and there’s no clear next step being provided.

Should I wait until the estimated delivery date passes before filing a refund request? If so, will I be refunded in full, including delivery fees?

Also, if something does arrive but it’s not the item described, am I expected to return it? If so, will I be reimbursed for the return postage as well as the original cost of the item and their delivery charge?

Please let me know what I should do next.

I’m happy to provide further information if needed.

Thanks.

Re: Listing altered after sale – no way to cancel or appeal

If you don't receive it you will have to wait until the estimated delivery date has passed before you can start a "not received" case.

If you do receive it you can open a "not as described" return and the seller would have to supply a paid-for return postage label.

In both instances you would get a full refund including postage.
