Lego compatible = fake lego?

So I have had 3 listing's removed because I used the words 'lego compatible'. I have never stated original lego as I didn't know who made my building blocks or figures (apart from 1 set). I used this term because I have seen figures that aren't lego brand listed as 'custom' figures and I even purchased 1 knowing it wasn't original lego (no branding on it). How come mine were removed because they are 'fake' yet others get away with just using 'custom'? I was being honest but now I can't list anything lego compatible unless it's lego branded while others can get away with using the custom term and not using lego compatible.....I feel like they need to check listing's better if they want to keep fakes out cos folk are making money on 'custom' figures while honest folk trying to rehome second hand building blocks can't even list them in an honest way. Just saying....thanks for your time, I hope I'm not the only one that has had this treatment so let me know your experiences!

Re: Lego compatible = fake lego?

No , you are not the only one but it's not ' treatment' it's because yours was spotted , and the others haven't.

The site is massive with over 7 billion listings on at any one time,  so just impossible to check every single listing,  invariably some slip the net and become listed.

Using the word ' compatible  to..... and a Brand name'  is called keyword spamming and not allowed.

Your items were spotted and reported when the others are they too will be removed.

You cannot relist the items on eBay as you have been flagged up for this selling breach and it could  result in serious selling restrictions to relist.

Re: Lego compatible = fake lego?

Thanks for replying, I will make sure I don't use any wording that might cause issues in the future. It's hard when you dont know what brand the blocks are because unlike lego or megablocks, they don't have a name on them. I have donated my spares to a local charity that don't mind what they are called as they can be used with all lego compatible blocks. I feel that honesty isn't always the best policy when listing on eBay but I will try harder in the future to keep the correct side of the lines.
