I ordered two items from a seller on ebay, one of which the seller sent the wrong size. I sent both items back and have proof of postage. The seller says the refund has been "approved" but nothing has come into my paypal account, and nothing in my ebay dashboard says the items are being refunded. The seller also now ignors my messages.
I've looked at the ebay help pages but there's nothing on there for this problem and I can't find a way to contact ebay directly to intervene.
Can anyone help?

Did you return them through ebay or direct with the seller?
Ebay will require proof of delivery not just posting, before they will help you.

Did you open return cases for both items using the Money Back Guarantee?
Did you send them back separately using tracked delivery and does the tracking now show they have been delivered?
If your refunds have been processed, then you will have had an email saying the refund is on its way.
Have you had an email or just confirmation from the seller?

I got in touch with the seller and they sent me a pre paid slip which I attached to the package. I got proof of postage but not tracking.
I didn't open a "return case" just did it through messages.
Not had any emails from ebay about it, just the message from the seller saying it was "approved".

It is always best to use the eBay money back guarantee so that eBay monitors the seller.
As you did not you may not - despite "approval" - get a refund. You are in the hands of the seller.
If that should happen eBay will not help and you may need to contact your payment provider. You might have been able to open [another] case with eBay if within 30 days but eBay would want "tracked" proof of delivery to seller which [if I understand] you do not have. Proof of posting really is not enough for eBay

If it was the seller's mistake you shoukd have opened two cases for not as described and seller would have had to send TWO labels. Using does not fit, would make it a change of mind return and you pay for tracked returnof two packets.
At best you can only prove return of one item as you only send one packet but ao long as not a large letter, your proof of postage should have a number on it which should prove delivery of one item the number is two letters, nine numbers and ends with GB.
You are unlikely to get a refund, from seller as they are just playing to get you out of time.
If you go to your payment provider, they also will want proof that both items have been returned.

Ebay won't even be aware of the return.
Did you have any sort of tracking on the package?
You may still be able to open a return case and add your tracking - how long ago did you actually receive the items?

No tracking. Order received on Oct 21. Initially, they refused to accept it was the wrong order despite photos.
On Oct 25 they sent return label (both items in one package). I posted on 25th. Apart from them saying it was "approved" nothing from them since.

Even if you now opened returns through Ebay (absolutely what you should have done in the first place), because you have no tracking and cannot prove return to the seller, you would not be able to ask Ebay to step in and force the refund and would be reliant on the honesty and cooperation of the seller.
It's a hard lesson to learn but you should only ever return goods through the proper channel (Ebay return case) and you must send items back with tracking.

Thanks. I suspect I won't be getting a refund from the seller then. Lesson learned.
