Item not as described. Ebay closed return period on the day it arrived (2 days after purchase)

I purchased a gold bracelet on 21 April 2025. It arrived on 23 April and I found that it was too small for my wrist - it was clearly made to fit a child's wrist. I tried to return it but eBay told me the return period was closed (on the day I received it!!). The seller doesn't reply. What I have been sold is not what was described in the listing. I want to return it and get my money back. eBay just says the case is closed. I need eBay to help me but have no way to contact them. What do I do?

I cannot be sure, but if you opened a case of ' item does not fit' , and the seller has a No Returns policy on the listing,  the case would close.

If the item was clearly misdescribed, that is,  the measurements were different to the item received,  then a case for item not as described.... item Does Not Match Description or Photos should have been opened,  this the seller could not refuse.

What reason did you select for the return?

If you selected 'doesn't fit' instead of 'doesn't match description or photos' then the seller can decline the return.

What sort of case did you open? Is seller a private or business seller?

It should have been NOT AS DESCRIBED, if you just opened a return case, classed as a change of mind, and seller is a private seller with no returns, that sould be why case is closed.

Speak to your payment provider, they may be able to help.

I think what almost certainly happened is that you opened a return and used the reason 'wrong size/doesn't fit'.

That is counted as a 'change of mind' return.

If you bought from a private seller, they don't have to accept change of mind returns and the case would have closed when the seller declined the return.

Was the size not shown in the listing?
