Item marked as paid but bank declined

I paid for an item accidentally with a card that I had recently got a replacement for. The status in eBay now says paid but my bank says payment was declined because I used the wrong card. How can I try and pay again now the item is in a Paid state?

I would have thought seller would have been in contact, if he finds your payment has “bounced”.

This seems strange as ebay only confirm that seller should post after receipt of cleared payment, there is no provision for failed payments. Have you received your purchase yet? Is it even marked as dispatched.

There is no way through ebay to make a second payment, it has to be done by PayPal, Bank Transfer or cheque.
