Item gone missing in post

I sold a item. The person went to collect it they were told it was damaged, then I got a message from eBay saying it's missing the person ended up with a refund. . The label was printed in the post office. Do I get compensation or do I loose out altogether

As long as you used Simple Delivery eBay will have issued the refund themselves and you get to keep the original payment.    If that hasn't happened you need to try and contact ebay about it.
