If something's not broken, don't fix it!!! (Postage)

I've been selling as a private seller, random things, on ebay since 2002.  Throughout this time I've managed any changes Ebay have decided to bring in, but this Simple Delivery postage is, for me, the worst change ever!

Firstly, the cost Ebay decides myself or the buyer should pay for postage is never relative to the postage I research from the various postage services/couriers and actually want the buyer to pay - it's always much lower and doesn't give me the confidence that it's actually covering the full cost.

This 10kg and sizing 61 x 46 x 46 - what's that all about?  I recently sold a framed print that was not this standard size.  I wanted full compensation of its value which could only be done via Parcel Force however the frame was too big for their accepted size parcels.  So what to do?   In the end, as Evri except larger sizes I had to send it via Evri, aware that it if it was damaged I would not be compensated.  And guess what, despite being very well packed, and marked outside 'glass' Evri managed to break the glass, fortunately the print was undamaged.

I will soon have two handmade pottery sheep for sale.. they may fit the weight and size, but Ebay says postage will be £5.36.  I'm not convinced.  The value will be outside Evri's £20 standard compensation.  So what Simple Delivery postage is Ebay choosing for me??  Where does the value of an item and its compensation required come into consideration when Simple Delivery is applied?

I don't care about Ebay's Simple Delivery... I want the right to choose the postage that I feel is applicable to the package I'm sending.  So I've got a dozen listings, all have been changed by Ebay overriding the postage that I originally applied to each item with its awful Simple Delivery.  It's really making me reconsider using Ebay in the future.
