I've got an offer accepted but when I checkout, the item is gone.

A few months ago, Ebay made a change to the offer system.

A seller could send offers to buyers as usual, but when a buyer accepted an offer (or made an offer and the seller accepted it), it wasn't final until the buyer paid.

So, another buyer could also make an offer, get it accepted, pay more quickly and win the item.

That makes sense, except that the seller is telling me that there is no other offer on the table and no sale.

Further, the item in question is still listed. I've cleared all the app cache and now I get a response that I can't pay whilst the seller is on holiday. That also makes sense.

However, my offer, and acceptance thereof, times out in 24 hours, despite me wanting to buy and the seller agreeing to sell.

I think it's an unforeseen impact of eBay site logic. I also think that it's happened because the seller is actually selling whilst flagged as being away. Pity that I'll lose out because I can't confirm my acceptance of the offer by checking out... even though I'm quite happy to wait until the seller is able to dispatch.
