I mixed up items to return

I bought two radios from two different sellers

I returned both of them but it seems I mixed them up. One of the sellers can't refund me because he doesn't have his item

I've tried three times to contact the other seller to ask to return the radio so they will each have the correct item.

EBay's help service îs useless.

How can I get the correct help to sort this out and get my refund and get them to swap radios?

This is not something that Ebay can help you with.

You will have to continue to try and communicate with the two sellers.

If either was a business seller, then you may be able to find an email address and possibly a phone number.

Re: I mixed up items to return

Thank you for replying. One of the sellers is going to return the radio which isn't his but the seller who has that seller's radio which is in much better condition has not responded at all.

I know it's my fault for mixing them up but why can eBay not encourage the seller at least to respond?

Re: I mixed up items to return

What does the tracking say for the radio that was delivered to the non responsive seller?

Does it show as delivered?

What I would do is see if you can escalate your return case to demand a refund from your seller. That should get him moving. You'll either be refunded, or your seller may suddenly get in touch.

Ebay knows nothing about your mix up and will merely look at the tracking, see that it's delivered and therefore you are due a refund.

Re: I mixed up items to return

Yes, that seller received the wrong radio and refunded me for the one he sold to me. The problem is that the other seller can't refund me for the radio he sold me until I can return it to him.

I understand that position.

I don't know why the other seller will not cooperate. As far as I know he has not listed the other radio but if he does the photos will show it's not the oe he sold me. This is a right SNAFU

Re: I mixed up items to return

I am assuming you didn't open a case then? If you returned them both without opening an ebay case for each one you have very little chance of a refund. you will just have to keep bashing away with your seller.

Re: I mixed up items to return

The problem is that I didn't realise my mistake until I asked seller 2 if he'd refunded me for the radio then he said the radio I returned to him wasn't his. That was several days after he'd received it. Seller 1 who has seller 2's radio refunded me straight away.

Seller 2 should have told me he had the wrong radio but said nothing until I asked which was pretty stupid but how can I open a case against him? Maybe I should

Re: I mixed up items to return

This is a proper mix up.

You should have opened two cases, one for each item, before returning the radios.

By not opening cases unfortunately you have nothing to bargain with and you can't ask ebay to help you.

If you have a tracking number for the radio you sent to the uncooperative seller you may be able to open a return case now, but you would have to then contact CS and ask them to add the tracking number to the case. It would, I presume, then show as delivered, albeit the wrong item.

But then you could escalate the same way as I explained earlier. I have no idea if this would work or not, but as you are getting nowhere at the moment it might be worth a shot.

Re: I mixed up items to return

Yes a right mess.

I have all the evidence I think that I sent the packages and that they were received but if I screwed up I have to rely on the sellers. One of which says his radio was nice and clean not scratched and dirty, the other just doesn't respond. I even resorted to giving him negative feedback to provoke some kind of response.Maybe I'm going to have to put it down to (in)experience and suck up the £60+ loss

Re: I mixed up items to return

There is no negative feedback showing so perhaps seller was able to get it removed.
