I just want to post a postcard

I've been selling on Ebay for years. I have lots of postcards selling, sometimes up to around £20). Normally I write the buyer's address on an envelope, stick a 2nd class letter stamp on it, and post it in the postbox at the end of my road.  With this new postage system, it wants me to print out a label for  postage of £2.70(!), and take it to an Evri outlet. Do I really have to do this?

Re: I just want to post a postcard

If your items are less than £10 and under 100g you should be able to opt out of Simple Delivery during the listing/revising process.   Click on "Switch to advanced options" at the bottom of the postage section, and again on the pop-up you'll get.

For the current one you could cancel the transaction (refund will be issued) and relist without SD for the buyer to buy again.

You can also opt out of Evri just to be sure, via My eBay > Account tab > Selling > Postage Preferences > Simple Delivery > Courier Options > Edit.     Or here's a direct link:

Re: I just want to post a postcard

Thanks for your reply. Just sold a postcard for £4.00. I opted out of Simple Delivery when I listed it, charging 90p postage. In my sold items it now shows £2.25 postage, and it told me to download a label. I did this in order to find out the address I needed to put on the envelope, and it now says the item is dispatched. I haven't dispatched it yet. And has the customer been charged £2.25 for postage or 90p? I have been a happy Ebay user for about 15 years, but I am so baffled by this.
