I don't understand "Simple" Delivery

I am having issue understand Simple Delivery when it comes to combined postage.  I can find no information about what happens when a buyer purchases multiple items and the combined package then exceeds the requirements for the type of postage I selected, like exceeding the weight requirement.

Combining does not work well with SD.  Its best to cancel transactions with buyer's agreement and relist all the items on one listing with one postage for the buyer to buy again.
