I bought an item. It still hadn't arrived a week after the due date. Eventually they gave me a refund. I bought another one from somewhere else.  Three days later the item turned up. Do I send him the money again even though I don't need it, post it and pay for postage or just leave it

Contact the seller and see what they say.  You should arrange to return it unless they don't want it back.
