How do you cancel and get a refund for a postage label?

Without me being aware some goods I sold went by "Simple Delivery" (which is anything but simple) which wanted more money than what it actually costs to post the item.  Going to an Ebay advisor to try and change this, he said he couldn't (I bet he could just didn't want to).  He said that to mark my items as sent I had to proceed with the label but not print it and that I should be able to cancel and get a refund for the label after 7 days.  7 days have passed and the label still says "Cannot b' cancelled."
Anyone know what to do or had any joy sorting this nonesense out?
I don't really want to go back to an Ebay advisor as they all seem to be brainwashed in telling us that Simple Delivery is the best thing ever. 
As a sideline did you know these advisors are also not allowed to criticise Ebay in anyway, evan a small criticism, or it costs them their job.  Who the hell wants a job like that where you can't have freedom of your own thoughts

Simple Delivery labels can't be cancelled without cancelling the whole transaction.    If you've bought postage outside of the system you have to pay for that yourself and can't get it back.  

As long as the item is showing as dispatched you will get the item price for it but will have to wait 14 days for it to be released.  

As you say, far from simple.   😞

Thank you for your answer.  I really to feel duped into using their system.  I have always gone to the "sell similar" on a previous item when listing something.  I was unaware that Ebay changed the postage method.  But try to find someone accountable and all the 3 advisors I have spoken with, about this, clam up, say nothing, won;t accept the blame and just refund the postage that I haven't used in THEIR Simple Delivery nonsense.  Very frustrating
