Sorry, only a valid credit card on your eBay account will allow you to buy any bladed item on eBay. It is the only form of verification they accept, that you are over the age of 18.
You are not the only person coming here with this issue, but the only way round it, is to ask someone who has a credit card on file to buy this item for you on eBay.

Yep, other sites have different rules, and yes I also agree that the verification age policy eBay have, should be looked into, there are definitely other acceptable methods / proof of age, as many peeps like yourself do now own a credit card.

I am an older person and have had my account for over 20 years.
My take on this is that I would rather pay with a credit card (or get one of my adult children to pay for me) than have to upload my passport or drivers license.
A credit card is just a payment method. If I had to use my drivers license as proof of age, that is then putting my full name, photo, signature, home address and date of birth 'out there'.
Not everybody has or wants a credit card but as a method of proving your age at the point of sale, it does seem like a sound choice.
