The item may have been stolen from their doorstep,  we have reports of this daily here,  they may not just be after a ' free item! '

You have tracking to show delivery then send the buyer a polite message with those details for them to check,  perhaps the item was left with neighbours, or taken back to a sorting office, and hopefully not stolen.

If the buyer ends up opening a case for item not as described just enter that tracking number into the case details,  and if it showed delivery,  the case will close in your favour,  no need to refund.

Did you add tracking to ebay when posting item, this is only way you can prove delivery.

If postage was bought through Simple delivery, then tracking is automatically added.

I would second that especially the 'polite' bit given the foul mouthed negatives OP leaves.
