Help please have got an issue with a poor eBay seller.

Hello, 

i ordered an lower bumper support for a Vauxhall corsa on the 12th August 2025 which was supposed to have been delivered within 48hrs. Unfortunately even after sending several messages to the seller they didn’t respond so on the 19th August 2025 I requested the order was cancelled and found a different seller (who did supply the request item within 48hrs). 
now this is where things get messy, a few hours after requesting the cancellation and it being rejected by the seller they dispatched the order on a 24hr delivery again I tried several times to contact them which was completely ignored, therefore, when the delivery attempt was made I rejected the item and instructed the courier to return to sender which they have done and is documented. Once this did arrive back to them I once again messaged them to provide me with a refund. Again this has been ignored. I have tried to open a case with eBay but it states that a case is open and to view the current status via my purchases which for some reason I cannot do..  I’m now at my whits end I feel that there is no support by eBay and the system just turns you around in circles. 
any support or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The correct way to deal with this is that you should have opened an Item not Received dispute rather than messaging the seller and requesting a cancellation. 

The ebay money back guarantee allows you to open a dispute when the item is only one day past the estimated delivery date.

 

Sadly you refused delivery which is possibly the worst thing you could have done because in ebay's eyes that is classed as successful delivery. What does the tracking say? What you should have done is accept the parcel and return it for a refund instead. If the item is overdue you can return it using the reason: Not as described so that the seller pays for the return label.

 

You say the seller has received the item back? But unfortunately I doubt if ebay will agree if the tracking shows successfully delivered. I think your refund is now between you and your seller.
