Hi all, hoping someone here can help because I’m really stuck.
I recently created a Business Policy (postage) as a test to see if I could finally offer next day delivery on one of my football shirt listings, but this was unsuccessful. I couldn't edit the postage policy on the listing so I ended the listing and have since deleted the policy.
However, any new or revised listing I create is still showing options to set a custom payment policy and custom delivery policy, instead of the old default “Simple Delivery” setup I used to get automatically. I also don’t remember ever having to pick a payment policy before.
On top of that, I now can’t select a dispatch time on new listings - that option has disappeared entirely, when previously I could choose my dispatch timeframe without any issue.
It feels like creating that one policy has caused some kind of account-wide change, because even after deleting it, nothing has gone back to normal.
Has anyone experienced this or knows what might be going on? I’m really regretting having set up a Business Policy as an experiment because it seems to have had much wider and longer-lasting effects than I expected.
Any guidance would be hugely appreciated! 🙏

Reading your question about "business policies" I at first assumed you were a business seller, and business sellers don't use simple delivery.
But you're not - you are a private seller. You appear somehow to have changed your default from simple delivery to custom delivery. If you can't simply edit this I don't know how you can change back - but someone else here will probably know.
What's interesting is that you seem by accident to have solved a probem that other private sellers often complain about: that simple delivery is now compulsory, and can't be opted out of.

Oh Wow!
Wonder how many will read this thread , rub hands together seeing that opt out, as you say, found by accident.
Wonder how long it will take for eBay to be aware of this ' loophole' that is, if it does work for everyone, and is permanent, and not a temporary ' get out of jail card! ' 🤔

Interesting development.
The state of it as it is now, it's not causing too many problems for me, I'm just a little usettled because I don't understand how it works.
The payment policy can be left blank so I don't think that is an issue.
The postage policy won't let me leave it blank though and without creating any policy of my own, I'm offered a single one on the dropdown titled "Flat: UK_RoyalMailTracked £3.65, 1 working day (253318888010) (0 listings)". This seems to be the same as what my simple delivery offered previously (I set all my despatch times to 1 day so I assume that's what the 1 working day is referencing). Underneath that dropdown, it also states "Simple Delivery will override your domestic postage policy". Am I to take it then that simple delivery is still how everything will operate for my domestic buyers and nothing has changed? That would be good.
The trouble I have is I see no option to offer international postage any more so I may presumably have to go to creating a new policy but given my last attempt was unsuccessful, this is all becoming a headache.

Just tried to relist the item I ended. I selected the above mentioned postage policy.
I listed this previously for £30 and it was showing on the listing as £31.90 which is what the buyer pays amount was stated to be. It also showed it was listed by 'kitandcultureuk', the name of my shop.
This new listing is instead showing up as £30 (even though the buyer pays amount remains £31.90) and shows as listed by 'nerad25', my account username. It also does not appear under my shop's listings when I access my shop.
What on earth is going on?
