Help! Buyer wants to send a friend to collect car

Hi, i have just sold a car through the auction.

The buyer wants to send 'a friend' to collect the car, which will have to be loaded on to a recovery truck.

The friend just called me to say he will be collecting it at the weekend, and will pay via bank transfer. I told him it will not be loaded on until I can see on my bank app, that funds have been transferred into my account. My worry is, the winning bidder who is supposedly on holiday, could say he didn't receive the car and wants his money back. How do I make sure this is all above board and not a con/scam? The buyer has only communicated through eBay, it's the friend I have chatted to. But he is also very hard to understand.

Any hints tips and advice would be appreciated

Thank you

Sam

There is no money back guarantee on vehicles, but I do not think it is wise to allow anyone apart from the actual buyer to collect.

That is why it is best to be paid in cash on collection, bank transfer from a third party sounds very risky. He could claim an unauthorised transaction through his bank, and you could not even prove he bought your car.
