Getting a refund

2I received the following message from my seller.

Hope you’re well.
Getting in touch as unfortunately, I am unable to link my UK bank account to my eBay profile as it’s been set up when I was still living in France.
I called the customer service who explained that due to different tax regulations in each countries it is not possible for me to receive payment in GBP and that I’ll have to create a new UK based account to do so.
With this in mind, I wanted to check if you’d be ok with me cancelling the sale on EBay, but still send the game over to you if I share my PayPal details for payment instead?
Let me know what your thoughts are, or if you have any questions.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best,
Oxoline

when I reply the message doesn’t  go anywhere and the purchase doesn’t show on my record. How do I get a refund?

Getting a refund

If you bought before your account was fully set up here's how to claim as "guest" buyer:

I am surprised the seller was able to send that message which is blatantly asking you to do an off-Ebay deal.

Do not pay the seller directly from your Paypal account - if they don't send the item you will not be able to make a claim through Ebay.

If the seller had cancelled the sale, you would get an email from Ebay saying the sale had been cancelled and your refund was being processed.

As advised, check if you bought as a guest - although if that is the case I don't think the seller would be able to message you.

Is this the Ebay account the message came to?

Either way, you need to find the email you got from Ebay when you paid and see what the latest estimated delivery date is.
