The bad news here is, anyone living in then same household, or sharing / using one another's laptop / devices, and one receives a permanent restriction, a ban, then all members of the household will gain the same restriction.
This is in place so that the restricted member doesn't just hop onto another account, and carry on selling.
You may still be able to buy on eBay but will gain the same selling restriction.

It's harsh, and very unfortunate for you, but you can see the reason, from eBay's point of view here. 😐

Nope, that's correct you could have started when eBay first started in the UK in 1999, even with no defects and a continual 100% feedback score, that still doesn't take away from eBay's eyes, someone with a ban, and they do not give out permanent restrictions lightly, can use your account to carry on selling.
eBay Customer Services never discuss any restriction, and will just direct you to the messages eBay have sent .
