Funds pend

I’ve used eBay from the beginning and it was always the best and super efficient but now it seems to have aged and gone downhill and everything has become difficult. Why has the amount of time before actually receiving the funds from a sale changed to quite an unacceptable amount of time. I sold an item on the 20th april and put in the post tracked, the buyer received the item on the 23rd (I messaged him to ask if it had arrived safe) but my funds are still on hold until the 5th may so that’s over 2 weeks I must wait. It’s seems like an obvious ploy by eBay  to hold onto peoples money for as long as possible so they can make even more profits.
My previous sale had the same problem.
I’ve also found the site more difficult to navigate especially when it comes to contacting a real human in customer service. It’s like eBay wants to wipe out the customers ability to be negative in any questioning or feedback and as for the rediculous bot assistant it just takes you around in circles. It’s a shame when businesses make changes that are really to protect themselves over that of the customer and then make it as difficult as possible for those customers to contact customer service l

Re: Funds pend

You have been a member for a fairly long time around 10 years,  but not continuously selling for that period,  you did have a break from selling and came back.  Sudden selling activity on eBay raises red flags to eBay, as it could be a sign that the account has been hijacked.

So for the first few sales,  eBay may hold payouts a little longer up to 30 days as they wish to see several items being delivered to the buyer safely,  proving the genuine owner has returned to the account to sell.

It is a security measure that works, as I definitely answer far fewer questions now, regarding hacked accounts.

As for reaching Customer Services they are available 24 /7 albeit ' out of hours' it's an automated assistant, links below to contact CS.  There are very few reasons ever to contact them come back to us first with any query,  it's far quicker!

If you ever need to,   this is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid

Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays

9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.

Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.

I recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

Re: Funds pend

Hi,
My first account from the beginning of eBay was hijacked so this account is
about 10 years old and I’ve always been a buyer rather than a seller with
very few issues relating to the processes of eBay itself.
I can understand eBay holding onto funds if I was selling multiple items of
high value but I don’t so I will just have to hope the process speeds up in
the future to reinstate my belief in the morals of eBay.

Thanks for your feedback it’s much appreciated 🙏🏻

Re: Funds pend

Aaah,  but this is a trick hackers do too,  sell low value items first,  making it look like a bona fide account,  then list  an expensive item,  take the money and not post the item.

You have had a hacked account,  so surely you can appreciate any security measures eBay can place, and this hold I know,  does work.

Re: Funds pend

Sure, it’s a slippery world we live in these days. Scammers, hackers,
fraudsters and ofc they know all the plausible tricks to fool.

I think when it come to people getting their money quicker most would be in
agreement with me that the process needs to speed up. Maybe better checks
on people’s identity and real location would be a good start. So many
Chinese businesses on here masquerade as U.K. based but the parcel arrives
from China.

I’m sure it’s not an easy situation for eBay to be in as they probably
don’t have the In house manpower to spend the time needed on more in-depth
checks.

Anyways that’s enough I got my answer and thanks very much . Sun is shining
out there lol 👍🏻👋🏻😎
