Fraudulently obtained item

I recently purchased an expensive electrical item from a seller, It was listed as new sealed.. private seller no returns. I asked if they could provide proof of purchase for warranty, they confirmed they would. They shipped the item and provided a screenshot of the order details from the manufacturer. On receipt the item was sealed in original box, on first use I experienced a problem and so I engaged with the manufacturer, I provided the order/serial etc. The manufacturer asked if there was some mistake as that order had been fully refunded and the unit should have been returned to them. I raised a return which has been accepted with the evidence I provided. The seller has a number of other new items for sale in their shop.. I'm thinking they may be ordering items online.. seeing if they can blag a refund without returning and then selling in their shop. Will ebay take any action against the seller for this behaviour? I posted negative feedback but my comments were removed that detailed the reason for the feedback. I have provided the original manufacturer with the ebay details etc as they requested them. I think the ebay account should be suspended, is there any way to escalate to ebay to take action?

I am afraid ebay will simply rely on the buyer protection given by the money back guarantee,  which you used to get your refund.

If there are enough claims against a seller they might sanction them, but there is no other report mechanism.

You obviously bought from a 'fake' private seller, if they were a real private seller it's unlikely that the warranty was transferable anyway.

I suggest buying such items from properly registered business accounts in future.
