Bought amplifier which arrived faulty. Spoke to seller who is happy to refund fully. Also, seller requested I dispose of said item, doesnt want it back. Ebay asking me to send item for refund. Can it be done between ourselves? Seller has refunded 1p and left message on same ebay return section that he will fully refund.

The seller can return without needing you to return the item - that is their choice.
Either you should get a full refund or a label to return the item.
This return of 1p is, to me, highly suspect.
If they are asking you to close the case, don't.
If they provide a label, Ebay will expect you to send the item back by a certain date. If you don't, the case will close and you will be left with a broken item and no refund, whatever the seller has promised.
Push them for a full refund promptly. If not, return the item.

Have you "actually" opened an eBay case? The seller does not have to be "happy" to refund. EBay requires it!
It may be that seller does not understand the system; or ...
If you have not opened a case do so now from the purchase record drop-down as long as you are still within 30 days of delivery. Do not discuss with the seller.
If seller does not refund in full through the case [or send a label] then after 3 full days escalate the matter to eBay who will probably simply refund and give the seller a defect. @350lcmark

Returns / refunds must be done through ebay. I do not like the sound of the 1p refund, it is pointless, and seller may think it will avoid him having to refund more, he is certainly not using the system which is the only way you can ensure a refund.
