Faulty item, return window closed.

Hello, I bought an induction hob end of July and used it once. I've just gone to use it again and it's making a horrible rattling noise and smells of smoke. I've emailed the seller. It does say in the listing that it has a 2 year warranty. I tried to open a return but was informed the return window is closed. It seems impossible to speak to a human at ebay. Does anyone know what my rights are? It was £84.99. A lot of money to lose over a faulty electrical item. Please help?!

Re: Faulty item, return window closed.

You cannot report this to eBay as they do not offer warranties or guarantees on items, just that they are just as described on receipt.  If they are not,  a buyer has 30 days under eBay's 30 day MBG,  Money Back Guarantee policy,  to return the item for a full refund.

If you bought this from a Private seller you are too late to claim a refund.  You could try your payment provider for help now,  with your refund.

If purchased from a registered UK business, who offered a guarantee and is now not upholding this,  then turn to Citizens Advice for your next steps,  if you wish to take this further.
