Fake listing with no real item – wastes buyers’ time

I found a listing that clearly violates eBay’s listing policies. The seller is advertising this item:

Title: Meat Food Thermometer Digital Temperature Probe Cooking BBQ Turkey Milk Kitchen

Price: £1.45

Options: "Please Select Pack Of One or Pack Of Two Options"

But this is not a real item. There’s no clear product being sold — just a vague selection option with no actual content. The variations are meaningless. You can add this "item" to your cart, select quantity, even check out — but there’s no actual listing of what will be sent. It’s likely just a trick to appear in low-price filters and manipulate search results.

Frankly, this kind of behaviour is extremely frustrating. These fake sellers waste buyers’ time by flooding search results with garbage listings. What’s worse, eBay’s automated systems don’t detect this, and when I tried to report it via the appeal form, I got a system error. So we can’t even file complaints properly.

eBay really needs to crack down on this kind of listing. It wastes user time, undermines trust, and pollutes the marketplace. Please review and remove this listing and take action against sellers abusing the platform.

Re: Fake listing with no real item – wastes buyers’ time

This item seems to have been relisted with a different number and price.

This seller has a lot of items listed, but this must be the one with  the worst description. In my opinion there is  a clear product being sold, but if you want to report, you should use the reason “KEY WORD SPAMMING” which I suspect is not allowed.
