Ebay sells to the 2nd highest bid

EBAY WILL SELL TO THE 2ND HIGHEST BIDDER IF YOU DON’T FOLLOW BIDDING RECOMMENDATIONS !!!

I.E

ANY ITEM OVER £3000 & IF YOU INTEND TO BID  IN THE LAST SECONDS

ENSURE YOUR BID IS AT LEAST RAISED BY £100

OR THEY SELL TO THE 2ND HIGHEST BIDDER & REFUSE TO ALLOW YOUR BID TO COUNT !

THATS JUST WRONG !

That is correct ,Bid increments are smaller when the bid price is low, and larger as the bids increase.

Re: Ebay sells to the 2nd highest bid

Hi mate
My issue is, I was the highest bidder right up to the last 10 seconds with a bid of £4888,00 & I increased my bid to £5020,00 right on 10 seconds to go, I watched it take my bid as the auction ended , & lost the bid to a bid of £4988,00
EBay’s reason was as my last bid was less than £100,00 so the algorithm chose the larger increased bid of a £100,00 at the end of the auction !!
🤯
How can that be correct

Regards
James
