Ebay not reducing price from seller

Hi I need some advice.

I'm trying to buy some item from America. The seller agreed to 480  but ebay won't let him reduce the item from 600 to 480. Is it possible that if I pay the 600 then ebay will compensate me the difference which is around 180.

Not a hope. If he really cannot reduce price, why doesn’t he end and relist at price agreed.
