Ebay deteriorating

I've used eBay for 15 years both as a seller and buyer. The default courier (Evri) has made me consider whether I should continue. Delivery on Feb 3.  202. Left note on my door saying I was in please knock. No knock but my dogs heard something so I went to look. Courier nosing about in my basement light well. Came up with a cover from recycling box. Said it was his (?) then refused to give me my parcel or the lid and drove off. Came back about 20-30 minutes later. Refused to give me my lid. Put his foot in the door and was very aggressive. I'm in my 70's and this was scary. Impossible to get to speak to anyone at Evri. CEO ignored my 2 emails. Today 7th March item purportedly delivered to an enclosed porch. I don't have an enclosed porch. I was in watching the rugby. Nobody knocked on my door or rang the bell. I suspect item was left on the front path in full view of passers by and stolen. Another problem is the click and collect choice of stores has been drastically reduced. So unless they offer an Evri service you can't use them for click and collect. Grrrrr. Rant over. Ebay kicked into touch.

Re: Ebay deteriorating

There's no denying we receive many reports of bad Evri deliveries, items left in unsafe places,  doorbells not rung items left outside in rain or worse,  then stolen.

It does depend on who you have as  the delivery person.  Ours recently changed from a marvellous lady to someone who never rang  our bell / knocked on door, and items were left outside, but I left a feedback if **** could please ring the bell they don't have to wait, and from then on ***** has done.

You can of course before purchase,  ask a seller if they would kindly only use Royal Mail for your purchase,  see if they can agree to do this for you.

Re: Ebay deteriorating

Your rant is not about eBay deteriorating at all. EBay have no control over how your evri driver behaves.

Re: Ebay deteriorating

But they have a choice to set Evri has default courier which also significantly reduces click and collect options which U prefer as it obviates the need for drivers to behave. For example I can only access one particular store for click and collect. This store is not suitable for me as not in an area I go to. I used to use the one on my regular route to walk the dogs or at Sainsbury's Argos.

Re: Ebay deteriorating

eBay have given sellers  the choice to exclude Evri from their postage options if they wish.

It's then up to the seller to do this or keep Evri as a postage option.

Re: Ebay deteriorating

Thanks tressygirl. If I use eBay again I'll try asking for Royal Mail but I
think I'll be using Vinted.
