Ebay a con

The idea of this board is to ask a question, and provide community mentors with enough information to try to help you, if we can. Without more information about this delivery, and why it was "supposed to be delivered to a neighbour" it's hard to help.

It's certainly a fact that problems of parcel theft or disputed deliveries have become one of the biggest risks of buying on eBay. Not helped by the difficulty in getting eBay to accept that tracking information is incorrct.

It's worth remembering that eBay's rules are only eBay's rules. According to how a buyer pays, PayPal or their payment provider e.g. credit or debit card issuer may still be able to help.

When buying from UK business sellers, buyers may have greater rights under statutory consumer protection. But delivery issues can be such a proverbial can of worms, and so many eBay sellers don't want to know about problems,  that enforcing any rights you may have can be seriously difficult - and probably not even worth considering for relatively low value items.
