EBay postage service issue

I used the eBay postal service for an item I’ve just sold. I charged the same postage costs as a previous listing for the same item. 
When I took the parcel to the post office and presented my qr code, I was told the parcel is too heavy. I offered to pay extra but was told that would not be possible. 
The postal worker didn’t have a solution… I then noticed that my parcel has been flagged as posted on eBay. I guess because my qr code was scanned… 

So now I’m having to print my own label and will have to pay for the postage. 
I also now have to contact the buyer explaining not to track the eBay postage and give new Royal Mail tracking. 
I couldn’t contact eBay support, endless ai bot loop, no human. 
No idea if I could have amended the postage? I tried, could not see any option apart from refunding the buyer and listing my item again?

I will not use the eBay postage service, I’ll do it all manually like I used too. Much easier. 
Am I missing something here? Others having this issue?

See if you can change the tracking number by going to the Order Details > Postage > dropdown menu (beside track package) > Add Tracking > + Additional Tracking Number.    If not you can contact customer support to do it using callback on here:

Or you can cancel the current transaction via the dropdown menu arrow on right of item on your orders page  (refund will be issued in the process) and relist with correct postage for the buyer to buy and pay again.  Obviously discuss with buyer first.

With the new ebay simple delivery, you have to have the correct size and weight of your item listed because simple delivery take that into account if it's wrong, and you then do have to provide your own tracked postal service at your cost.
